The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially revoked the allocation of 568 plots of land in Abuja due to non-payment of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) fees.<\/div>\n

Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Diri Douye, his Imo States counterpart,\u00a0 \u00a0 Senator Hope Uzodimma, Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, are among the 568 persons whose land allocations in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja were withdrawn by the Minister.<\/p>\n

Others include; former Governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and federal lawmaker representing Obokun\/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke.<\/p>\n

In a recent public notice, the FCT Administration stated that the allottees from Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, failed to pay their outstanding C of O fees after the expiration of a grace period granted by the minister.<\/p>\n

It was stated that \u201cthe revocation is in accordance with Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978, due to the allottees\u2019 failure to comply with the payment terms outlined in the grant.<\/p>\n

Allottees who have settled their payments by January 15, 2025, are exempted from this action and are not affected by this announcement.<\/p>\n

Recall that in early October, a total of 3,273 were offered two weeks to pay their bills or lose their R-of-O titles, out of which 2,511 complied, leaving 762.<\/p>\n

The 762 allottees were further allowed another grace of two weeks to pay, but as at January 15, this year, 12 days after the expiration of the weeks, only 194 paid, leaving 568.<\/p>\n

The Notice of Withdrawal of Right of Occupancy in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja,\u00a0\u00a0reads, \u201cThe Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA wishes to inform the allottee(s)\/ title holder(s) of plot(s) of land in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja who have failed to make payment for their Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills after the expiration of grace period granted by the Honourable Minister, Federal Capital Territory that their Right of Occupancy to the land\/property have been withdrawn, pursuant to the provisions of Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978 for contravention of the terms of grant which obligated the title \/ interest holders to settle all bills.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
