{"id":116755,"date":"2025-03-13T11:32:19","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T10:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=116755"},"modified":"2025-03-13T11:32:19","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T10:32:19","slug":"gov-okpehbolo-recalls-suspended-edo-attorney-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gov-okpehbolo-recalls-suspended-edo-attorney-general\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Okpehbolo recalls suspended Edo Attorney General"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Five weeks after he was embarrassingly suspended from office, the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Wednesday recalled the State\u2019s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie.<\/p>\n<p>When he was suspended for alleged financial infractions, Osagie had, in a swift rep tooste, declared his innocence.<\/p>\n<p>He said he was also ready to subject himself to probe in a bid to prove he knew nothing about any deal or financial infractions.<\/p>\n<p>A letter to Osagie by the Secretary to State Government, Umar Ikhilor, marked SGA. 15\/NOL.XV111\/215 and dated March 12, 2025, released around 8:15pm, read that he was recalled after he was exonerated of financial wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read in part, \u201cHaving considered the report of the Investigative Panel set up by Government to investigate allegations of financial infractions reported against you, which has exonerated you from the said allegations, I write to convey the directive of the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo that you resume duties as the State Hon.Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice with effect from 12th March, 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nReacting to the development, Osagie commended the governor for his frankness.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cI appreciate his sincerity of purpose and vision for the state; this is a clear indication that Governor Monday Okpehbolo means well for the state, and I use this medium to reinstate my commitment and loyalty to him and his administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remain committed to joining him to ensure that Edo State recovered all lost ground, take the stage to where it should be.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Five weeks after he was embarrassingly suspended from office, the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Wednesday recalled the State\u2019s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Samson Osagie.
