{"id":116787,"date":"2025-03-18T18:40:29","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T17:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=116787"},"modified":"2025-03-18T18:40:29","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T17:40:29","slug":"another-explosion-rocks-oil-facility-in-rivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/another-explosion-rocks-oil-facility-in-rivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Another explosion rocks oil facility in Rivers\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1826954127660745805\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div id=\"m#msg-f:1826954127660745805-content\" class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unconfirmed reports say there is\u00a0 another explosion at an oil facility in Ogba\/Egbema\/Ndoni Local Government Area of the Rivers State.<\/p>\n<p>A source in the area alleged that the explosion happened on a Manifold Connecting federal a line in Okwawriwa area in ONELGA, Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The source, who did not want his name mentioned, claimed that the people of the area only woke up to observe raging fire on the facility located some distance away from residential homes.<\/p>\n<p>The source noted that the facility conveys petroleum products from Seplat, Agip, and Shell, from the ONELGA and parts of Imo State to Brass in Bayelsa State.<\/p>\n<p>This is coming less than 12 hours after the Trans-Niger Pipeline, operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, that transports oil to Bonny Terminal had gone into flames.<\/p>\n<p>However, at press time it could not be ascertained whether the fire incidences at both facilities were caused by human activities.<\/p>\n<p>But police in the state had in a statement earlier on the incident at qq1, Gokana LGA, said it has opened an investigation into the development.<\/p>\n<p>The police also said they have taken two people in for interrogation over the explosion on Trans-Niger Pipeline.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unconfirmed reports say there is\u00a0 another explosion at an oil facility in Ogba\/Egbema\/Ndoni Local Government Area of the Rivers State.
