{"id":117337,"date":"2025-04-13T22:54:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-13T21:54:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=117337"},"modified":"2025-04-13T22:54:52","modified_gmt":"2025-04-13T21:54:52","slug":"us-court-order-mischievous-nonsense-presidency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/us-court-order-mischievous-nonsense-presidency\/","title":{"rendered":"US court order mischievous, nonsense &#8211; Presidency\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-f:1829316594908092140\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div id=\"m#msg-f:1829316594908092140-content\" class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The presidency has described as &#8220;mischievous and politically-mechanised nonsense&#8221; the order issued by a United States court, compelling the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to release drug investigation records on President Bola Tinubu.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The United States District Court for the District of Columbia had ordered US law enforcement agencies to release confidential information generated on President Bola Tinubu during a \u201cpurported federal investigation in the 1990s.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recall that Aaron Greenspan and David Hundeyin, an investigative journalist from Nigeria, had filed a suit in June 2023 under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) against the Executive Office for US Attorneys, Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In their affidavit, the duo accused the law enforcement agencies of violating the FOIA by failing to release within the statutory time \u201cdocuments relating to purported federal investigations into\u201d President Tinubu and one Abiodun Agbele.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">But reacting to the development, the Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communication, Daniel Bwala described the order as &#8220;politically mechanised nonsense&#8221; ahead of the 2027 election.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bwala, former spokesperson to the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 general election stated in his verified X handle, that the opposition has continued to develop different strategies to ensure Tinubu&#8217;s re-election was frustrated.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Mischievous and politically mechanized nonsense under the guise of US Court Orders FBI and DEA to act. They claim the order was given on Tuesday, but it never saw the light of the media until Sunday<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;There is nothing these opposition under the auspices of coalition for a wild goose chase cannot try to do to keep relevance<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;They went to meet @MBuhari and it was reported that he insisted the meeting be held in or on camera so that Elrufai would not go and say Buhari is joining SDP and PDP<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Hard as they try, they are still struggling to convince Nigerians that they have any plan at all,e Nigerians that they have any plan at all, needless alternative plan.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) however declined comments on the order.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a telephone conversation with Pointblank News he said, &#8221; I have not seen the order.
