{"id":118082,"date":"2025-04-29T16:10:18","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T15:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=118082"},"modified":"2025-04-29T16:10:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T15:10:18","slug":"efcc-arrests-achimugu-over-money-laundering-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/efcc-arrests-achimugu-over-money-laundering-allegations\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Arrests Achimugu Over Money Laundering Allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, a business executive and socialite who had been declared wanted in March 2025 for alleged money laundering and fraud.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>She was picked up at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja around 5 AM on Tuesday, upon her arrival from London.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Earlier, on Monday, Achimugu\u2019s lawyer Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN, had informed the Federal High Court in Abuja that his client, as stated in her court documents, would &#8220;visit the EFCC today in connection with its ongoing investigation into an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Following the arrest, Mr. Ojukwu, stated that &#8220;in light of what transpired in court on Monday, my client returned based on the undertaking before the court to honour r the EFCC\u2019s invitation, but was \u2018arrested\u2019 at the airport.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The senior lawyer further alleged, &#8220;She has immediately gone on a hunger strike.
