{"id":118085,"date":"2025-04-29T16:12:27","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T15:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=118085"},"modified":"2025-04-29T16:12:27","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T15:12:27","slug":"emefiele-loses-bid-to-reclaim-753-abuja-properties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/emefiele-loses-bid-to-reclaim-753-abuja-properties\/","title":{"rendered":"Emefiele Loses Bid to Reclaim 753 Abuja Properties"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The FCT High Court in Abuja has dismissed an application by former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele to reclaim a forfeited estate of 753 duplexes and apartments.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie, in his ruling, stated that Emefiele was given ample opportunity of over 14 days to contest the forfeiture but failed to do so.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Emefiele, through his lawyer, Adeyinka Kotoye, SAN, had argued that the forfeiture process occurred without his knowledge due to an alleged obscure publication of the interim forfeiture notice.
