{"id":118119,"date":"2025-04-29T22:54:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T21:54:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=118119"},"modified":"2025-04-29T22:54:41","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T21:54:41","slug":"pdp-to-hold-nec-may-27-convention-august-27-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/pdp-to-hold-nec-may-27-convention-august-27-30\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP to hold NEC May 27, Convention August 27 \u2013 30\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has recommended May 27 as tentative date for the party\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting just as it also recommended August 27 \u2013 30 as tentative days for National Convention.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dates are line with the recommendations of PDP governors after its meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital last week.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking with journalists after its NWC meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, Acting National Chairman of the Party, Amb. Umar Damagum said that the party has sealed the fate of its former National Publicity Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu following recommendations of the governors elected on the platform of the party. The NWC confirmed that Arc. Setonji Koshoedo has been approved as Acting National Secretary.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe NWC has approved the recommendations by the PDP governors in Ibadan. It discussed the issue of NEC, the issue of National Secretaries, the issue of Convention and the committees that was recommended. All will be discussed as soon as we have our NEC\u201d Damagum disclosed.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that in line with the resolutions of the governors, the NWC will recommend the Convention date and committees constituted by the governors to NEC for approval.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe issue around the National Secretary, we are forwarding all the issues, the recommendations of the governors to NEC. At NEC, they will take an appropriate action.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI cannot speak for NEC, I will only recommend. If you see the communique of the Governor&#8217;s forum, all the dates for NEC, for convention have been communicated.
