The suspect, who had previously been convicted for drug trafficking and robbery in the United Kingdom, was reportedly recruited to transport the illicit consignment from Thailand via Doha.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, stating that Slifer had been under surveillance after intelligence reports led officers to his flight.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He added that Slifer was traveling on Qatar Airways when he was apprehended by NDLEA operatives, who discovered the drugs concealed in his luggage.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, in a separate operation, NDLEA officers raided a hideout in Kano on May 10, recovering 775 litres of codeine syrup. Two suspects, Hafizu Isa Uman, 34, and Ismail Shehu, 48, were arrested in connection with the seizure.
