{"id":119590,"date":"2025-06-11T02:31:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T01:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=119590"},"modified":"2025-06-11T02:31:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T01:31:07","slug":"efcc-arraigns-businessman-firm-over-alleged-n190m-theft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/efcc-arraigns-businessman-firm-over-alleged-n190m-theft\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC Arraigns Businessman, Firm Over Alleged N190m Theft\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed charges against Lagos businessman, Samson Davies and his company, Signature Advisory Limited, for allegedly stealing N190.7 million.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He was arraigned on Tuesday before Justice Mojisola Dada at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Davies and Signature Advisory Limited face a single count of stealing. The charge alleges that between October 2022 and October 2023, in Lagos, they &#8220;dishonestly converted to [their] own use the aggregate sum of \u20a6190,791,494&#8230; property of Ronchess Global Resources Plc.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When the charge was read in court, Davies pleaded &#8220;not guilty.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Following the plea, the prosecution counsel, C.C. Okezie, requested a trial date to present the prosecution&#8217;s case. Okezie also asked that Davies be remanded in a Correctional Centre.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>However, the defense counsel, Ifeoma Esom, informed the court that a bail application had been filed and urged the court to grant Davies bail on the most liberal terms.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Justice Dada subsequently granted Davies bail in the sum of \u20a650 million with two sureties for the same amount.
