{"id":119760,"date":"2025-06-15T18:28:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T17:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=119760"},"modified":"2025-06-15T18:28:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T17:28:13","slug":"another-indian-air-crash-claims-seven-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/another-indian-air-crash-claims-seven-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Indian air crash claims seven lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A helicopter crash in India\u2019s northern state of Uttarakhand has resulted in the deaths of seven people, marking the second fatal aviation incident in the country in less than a week.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The crash took place on Sunday, just three days after a devastating India Air plane crash in Ahmedabad that left more than 270 dead.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to reports, the Aryan Aviation Bell 407 helicopter, bearing registration VT-BKA, was flying from Kedarnath to Guptkashi\u2014a popular pilgrimage route that winds through the Himalayas\u2014when it went down.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">BBC reported that there were six passengers on board, including one child, along with a single crew member.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation confirmed that the pilot and a two-year-old child were among those who lost their lives. An investigation into the incident will be carried out by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB).<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAt around 5:30 AM, we got the information that a helicopter, which was going from Shri Kedarnath Dham, could not be located,\u201d said the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Department.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The wreckage was later found near Gaurikund, a critical rest stop for pilgrims on the route to the Kedarnath shrine.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Local authorities, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other rescue teams, quickly mobilized to conduct search and relief operations at the crash site.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, recovery efforts are still ongoing at the crash site of Boeing 787-8 Dreamline that crashed in Ahmedabad, where rescue crews continue to sift through the debris left by Thursday\u2019s India Air plane crash in a densely populated neighborhood.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Officials said that 25 additional bodies were recovered from the rubble late Friday night.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad reported to the Associated Press that 270 bodies have been received so far. The lone survivor remains hospitalized, though his condition has improved.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe is doing very well and will be ready to be discharged anytime soon,\u201d the facility said Saturday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the condition of many of the victims\u2019 remains\u2014charred or severely disfigured\u2014the hospital has begun DNA identification efforts.
