Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, confirmed the arrests, crediting intelligence-led operations by security agencies.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Governor during an interview on national television lauded the successful joint effort by the police and other security outfits. He stated that &#8220;several gunmen believed to be connected to the killings in Benue were arrested,&#8221; underscoring the effectiveness of the operation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Governor commended security agents in Nasarawa State for their proactiveness and vigilance, which he said was crucial in preventing the escalation of violence across the Nasarawa\/Benue border. He also appealed to those perpetrating violence to embrace peace.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Corroborating the Governor&#8217;s statement, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Nadada, confirmed the arrests of the suspected herdsmen around the border area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to CP Nadada, the suspects were found in possession of dangerous weapons, including AK-47 rifles, which they allegedly intended to use for further attacks.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Our security architecture has been put on high alert since the escalation of violence in Benue,&#8221; CP Nadada explained. &#8220;They were caught with AK-47s and other dangerous weapons.
