{"id":120182,"date":"2025-06-27T18:36:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T17:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=120182"},"modified":"2025-06-27T18:36:20","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T17:36:20","slug":"sowunmi-praises-tinubu-for-reuniting-wike-and-fubara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/sowunmi-praises-tinubu-for-reuniting-wike-and-fubara\/","title":{"rendered":"Sowunmi praises Tinubu for reuniting Wike and Fubara"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesperson to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 campaign council, Segun Sowunmi, has showered praises on President Bola Tinubu for brokering peace between the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and the leadership of the state assembly.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Recall that President Tinubu had on Thursday, met with Wike and Fubara at the Presidential villa to find a political solution to the prolonged political conflict that led to Fubara\u2019s suspension and a declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The meeting marked a breakthrough in reconciliation efforts, as photographs released after the talks showed the President, the suspended governor, and the minister smiling.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Reacting to the development, Sowunmi, who recently met the President, despite his political affinity with Tinubu\u2019s political rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, described the move by President Tinubu as a mark of leadership.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In a post on his X account, Sowunmi also thanked Fubara, Wike and Rivers elders for encouraging the intervention of President Tinubu in ending the crisis in their state.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He wrote, \u201cThis is how to lead! A leader must resolve issues, not make them worse. There is nothing wrong with studying Asiwaju @officialABAT. After all, we study leaders in other climes. It is a weakness and colonial mentality to think that one of our own cannot be learned. Mr. President, you do this one.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThank you Gov @SimFubaraKSC, thank you, Min @GovWike, thank you Speaker and his colleagues. Thank you reasonable elders who encouraged this. This has always been my position. The journey from home is the same distance as the journey away from home. Team Rivers is Back. Now let\u2019s celebrate.
