As the mega coalition anchored by The African Democratic Congress (ADC) continues to attract membership, the leadership of the party has disowned a viral list of state chairmen circulating across social media platforms just as it cautioned prospective members against patronizing fake online registration.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A list of ADC State Chairmen surfaced online recently, announcing the appointment of 36 state chairmen and one for the federal capital territory (FCT) and asking prospective members to identify and register with the named individuals<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
However, in a statement on Wednesday evening, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC interim spokesperson, said the opposition party is unaware of any such appointments and described the publication as false.<\/div>\n

Abdullahi asked Nigerians to disregard the list, noting that no official announcement has been made regarding state leadership.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u201cThe ADC admonishes Nigerians to verify all its information via the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of its National Publicity Secretary, @BolajiADC,\u201d the statement reads.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cAny information that does not emanate from the appropriate communication channels of the party and is not verified on the X (formerly Twitter) page of the National Publicity Secretary should be disregarded.\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The ADC spokesperson also raised the alarm over unauthorised platforms reportedly collecting money from unsuspecting citizens under the pretext of party registration.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Abdullahi noted that the party has not endorsed any online payment system for registration and condemned the move as a deliberate attempt to defraud the public.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe party also dismissed and strongly condemned the information that some persons have set up fictitious online platforms to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard-earned money under the guise of registering them with the party,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He advised Nigerians to be cautious and consult credible sources for any information relating to the party or the opposition coalition.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Abdullahi added that the details of all legitimate party activities and coalition engagements will be made available through proper channels.<\/div>\n
