This frightening reality has heightened the fears of residents over growing insecurity.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Godwin, a fuel attendant with Mobil Filling Station in Mabushi, Abuja, was reported to have boarded a commercial vehicle on Friday evening around 8:53 p.m. She never made it home.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0According to reports, her abductors, believed to be members of a notorious \u201cone-chance\u201d gang, contacted her family and demanded a ransom of \u20a61 million. However, she was found dead the following morning in the Jabi area of Abuja.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Her cruel fate has again sparked outrage and fear among residents.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The deceased hailed from Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State. Family members who identified her body described her as hardworking and peaceful.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOur operatives visited the scene, evacuated the victim\u2019s body to the National Hospital morgue, and have opened a full-scale investigation into the matter,\u201d Adeh said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">She added that the Command was intensifying efforts to dismantle \u201cone-chance\u201d syndicates operating across the territory and urged residents to avoid unregistered or suspicious commercial vehicles, especially at night.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tragedy has reignited public concerns over the alarming spate of killings and general insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Civil society organisations and worried residents are demanding more proactive policing, especially in vulnerable areas.
