The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has slammed embattled Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, accusing her of transforming her bid to return to the Senate into a theatrical display fit for social media.<\/div>\n

Speaking during a live appearance on a national television, Adaramodu dismissed Natasha’s attempt to resume plenary as \u201ccontent creation and political drama, rather than a legitimate legislative move.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe are lawmakers, not actors. The National Assembly is not a stage for skit-making or reality TV,\u201d Adaramodu declared. \u201cThis entire saga has morphed into a full-blown season film. Initially, it looked like just another episode of content creation, but it has become a disturbing spectacle.\u201d<\/div>\n

The Senate spokesperson maintained that regardless of any purported court ruling, due process must be followed before such orders can take effect within the Senate.<\/div>\n

\u201cEven when someone obtains a judgment, they can\u2019t enforce it themselves,\u201d he explained. \u201cThere are legal procedures, including court bailiffs and official notifications, that must be observed. No individual can just walk in and claim enforcement.\u201d<\/div>\n

Recall that Natasha had claimed that her suspension was overturned by a valid court ruling, insisting that she had every right to resume her legislative duties. However, the Senate has neither acknowledged the court’s decision nor issued any official communication regarding her status.<\/div>\n

Adaramodu insisted that Nigerians could see through what he described as a choreographed performance by the Kogi lawmaker.<\/div>\n

\u201cI know Nigerians are discerning enough to understand that what\u2019s unfolding is yet another scripted drama. We will not be co-opted into it,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n

The controversy over Akpoti-Uduaghan\u2019s suspension and her disputed return continues to stir political tension, as legal experts and constituents await clarity on the Senate’s final stance.<\/div>\n
