{"id":121075,"date":"2025-07-29T07:22:05","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T06:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=121075"},"modified":"2025-07-29T07:22:05","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T06:22:05","slug":"wafcon-tinubu-gifts-super-falcons-100000-each-confers-national-honours-houses-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/wafcon-tinubu-gifts-super-falcons-100000-each-confers-national-honours-houses-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"WAFCON: Tinubu gifts Super Falcons $100,000 each, confers national honours, houses in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Elated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has bestowed the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the Super Falcons and the entire technical crew to appreciate their victory at the 2024 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) that ended on Saturday in Morocco.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nigerian President also allocated three-bedroom apartments in Abuja to each of the players and the technical crew at the Renewed Hope Estate, as well as the naira equivalent of $100,000 to each of the 24 players and $50,000 to each of the 11-man technical crew.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tinubu made the pronouncement during a reception in honour of the players and the coaching crew of the 10 times West African champions at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, \u201cI hereby conferred on the players, the 11-man technical team with national honours of the Officer of the Order of the Niger.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAdditionally, I have I directed the allocation of three bedroom apartments in the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThen there is the cash award of the naira equivalent of $100,000 US dollars each to the 24 players and the naira equivalent of $50,000 to the 11-man technical crew.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The President said he didn\u2019t want to watch the WAFCON final because he didn\u2019t want to have high blood pressure.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHonestly, I did not want to watch the match. I didn\u2019t want high blood pressure.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBut people came into my room and turned on my TV to that channel.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen it was 2-0, I got very restless and very offended.
