Nigeria\u2019s non-oil export earnings climbed to $3.225 billion in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 19.59 per cent growth compared to the $2.696 billion recorded during the same period in 2024, according to the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).<\/div>\n

Executive Director\/Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, Nonye Ayeni, revealed the figures on Sunday in Abuja while presenting the council\u2019s Half-Year Performance Report for the non-oil export sector.<\/div>\n

Ayeni said the volume of goods shipped abroad also increased, reaching 4.04 million metric tonnes in H1 2025, up from 3.83 million metric tonnes in the first half of last year. She attributed the boost to heightened global demand, particularly from India, Brazil, Vietnam, and several African markets.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe report captures our progress, the hurdles encountered, and the opportunities ahead as we approach the latter part of the year,\u201d she noted.<\/div>\n

\u201cGentlemen of the press, I am pleased to inform you that the value of non-oil exports for the first half of 2025 stood at $3.225 billion, representing a growth of 19.59 per cent compared to $2.696 billion in the corresponding period of 2024,\u201d Ayeni said.<\/div>\n

She added that the increase in value was mirrored by a rise in shipment volumes. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, non-oil exports were valued at $1.791 billion, a 24.75 per cent jump from $1.436 billion in Q1 2024.<\/div>\n

Export volumes for Q1 2025 rose to 2.416 million metric tonnes, marking a 24.3 per cent increase over the 1.937 million metric tonnes recorded in the same quarter of the previous year.<\/div>\n
