Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji has commissioned 10 roads rehabilitated by his administration in Aba, the commercial capital of the State.<\/p>\n
The roads include Azikiwe, Geometric Power access road, Constitution Crescent, Brass junction by Faulks Road, Milverton Avenue, Constitution Crescent, among others.<\/p>\n
Addressing residents of the city who were elated at the development at Brass junction, Orji said that the essence of road rehabilitation in Aba was to open up access roads to boost economic activities in city and its environs, assuring that it would be extended to all parts of the state.<\/p>\n
The governor expressed hope that with the rehabilitation of roads in Aba, the issue of flooding has been addressed to a large extent<\/p>\n
He added that crime fighting would be enhanced and Aba made unsafe for kidnapping and other violent crimes in the city and the state at large.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho does not know that Aba is important, everything in Aba is important.<\/p>\n
So we are bringing special things to Aba. We didn\u2019t stop there. We commissioned one of our sons to desilt gutters in Aba and it is on-going.
\nThese roads you see we have built are to bring in progress. It is to bring in good things and to send out all bad things. All kidnappers will be away from this road. This is the road that will send them to hell and a road that will bring in progress and prosperity in Aba and the people of Abia State,\u201d Orji said amidst cheers.<\/p>\n
The governor said that the Geometric power plant would help to boost power generation in the city and assist manufacturers to increase their productivity.<\/p>\n
He disclosed that his administration was also focusing on health sector, but regretted that people instead of patronizing government hospitals in order to enjoy its facilities have resorted to patronizing quacks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe diagnostic center that was built for Aba people, they do not go there.<\/p>\n
They prefer to go to the one at Azikiwe and Faulks road, the one that are not recognized. You go to the one recognized by government, you go there and they diagnose you. We are now in Umuahia establishing a renal center, dialysis center. Go to that place, it is there for you and we are doing it so that everyone will be alive to see what we are doing here today.\u201d The governor stated<\/p>\n
