{"id":121665,"date":"2025-08-28T08:00:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T07:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=121665"},"modified":"2025-08-28T08:00:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T07:00:18","slug":"unicef-donates-11-million-equipment-to-boost-nigerias-health-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/unicef-donates-11-million-equipment-to-boost-nigerias-health-infrastructure\/","title":{"rendered":"UNICEF Donates $11 Million Equipment to Boost Nigeria\u2019s Health Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The United Nations Children\u2019s Fund (UNICEF), in partnership with GAVI, has donated cold chain equipment worth $11 million to support Nigeria\u2019s immunisation efforts and strengthen the country\u2019s health infrastructure.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The donation includes 1,653 Solar Direct Drive Refrigerators, 165 sets of spare parts, and temperature monitoring devices, aimed at improving vaccine storage and distribution, especially in remote and underserved areas.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis is a significant milestone in strengthening Nigeria\u2019s healthcare system,\u201d said Dr. Maharajan Muthu, UNICEF\u2019s Chief of Health, during the handover ceremony in Abuja. \u201cCold chain infrastructure is the backbone of effective immunisation programs.
