President Bola Tinubu at 1:20am on Thursday landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja after attending TICAD9 meeting and a three-day state visit to Brazil with a stopover at the United Arab Emirate.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The President, who arrived aboard a presidential jet, was received at the Presidential Wing of the Airport by a high-powered delegation of political leaders and senior government officials.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Among those present were Governors Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau); Uba Sani (Kaduna); Hope Uzodinma (Imo) and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara).<\/div>\n

Also on hand to welcome the President were Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and some Ministers, including Nyesom Wike (FCT); Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Budget and Economic Planning) and Bello Matawalle (Defence, State).<\/div>\n

President Tinubu\u2019s visit to Brazil was marked by the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering aviation, trade, science, diplomacy, and finance. It yielded a raft of bilateral agreements and high-level engagements aimed at deepening Nigeria\u2019s economic and diplomatic ties with South America\u2019s largest economy.<\/div>\n

At a joint press conference in Bras\u00edlia, he welcomed the imminent return of Petrobras, Brazil\u2019s state-owned oil giant, to Nigeria\u2014five years after it halted its joint ventures.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe have the largest gas repository. So I don\u2019t see why Petrobras doesn\u2019t join as a partner in Nigeria as soon as possible. I appreciate President Lula\u2019s promise that this will be done,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n

The agreements also included a Bilateral Air Services Agreement, paving the way for direct flights between Lagos and S\u00e3o Paulo, to be operated by Air Peace.<\/div>\n

Other MoUs targeted political consultations, scientific collaboration, and agricultural financing through Nigeria\u2019s Bank of Agriculture and Brazil\u2019s National Bank for Economic and Social Development.<\/div>\n

Beyond the MoUs, President Tinubu underscored his administration\u2019s economic reforms, assuring Brazilian investors of a stable, transparent financial climate.<\/div>\n

He cited Nigeria\u2019s capital market growth as evidence of renewed investor confidence and pledged continued reforms to \u201cunlock capital, protect investors, and drive innovation.\u201d<\/div>\n
