justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Fresh crisis is brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of its national convention as the faction led by Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has outlined six conditions that must be satisfied to ensure a peaceful convention.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">They emphasized that PDP was founded on the principles of inclusion, fairness, and justice, arguing that for the party to regain its status as the main opposition and become the true alternative for Nigerians, it must rise above narrow interests and embrace collective responsibility.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following a meeting on Monday night, the group, known as \u201cEminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party,\u201d issued a communique reaffirming that leadership positions within the party should remain open, inclusive, and competitive, while ensuring regional balance in accordance with the PDP\u2019s long-standing traditions.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The communique read in part, \u201cWe call on the National Working Committee to urgently conduct new, transparent, and inclusive congresses in Ebonyi and Anambra States, in accordance with court judgments.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThat a new and legitimate South-East Zonal Congress should be held.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThat the outcome of the valid and recognized South-South Congress held in Calabar, Cross River State, and acknowledged by the court, be respected.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThat the Ekiti State Local Government Areas Congress be conducted immediately, in compliance with the ongoing court judgment.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOn zoning of party offices, while we agree with the zoning committee\u2019s recommendations, which was adopted by NEC that the status quo remains, we strongly believe that there should be no micro-zoning to maintain peace and stability within the party.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe National Chairman of the party should remain in the North-Central in accordance with the zoning formula of the 2021 convention\u201d.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">They warned that \u201cthe forthcoming national convention may face difficulties if these conditions are not met.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Present at the meeting were former Benue State governor Dr. Samuel Ortom; ex-Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose; former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu; his Enugu counterpart Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Chief Dan Orbih, among others.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pointblanknews.com earlier reported that the Minister, during his monthly media chat, also threatened that readmitting Peter Obi into the party is a red line that must not be crossed.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Given these conditions, the party leadership needs to intensify its efforts, pursue more reconciliation, and make compromises as it moves closer to the national convention holding in Ibadan, Oyo State capital from 15 -16th
