{"id":122192,"date":"2025-09-12T06:33:39","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T05:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122192"},"modified":"2025-09-12T06:33:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T05:33:39","slug":"gyan-questions-authenticity-of-osimhens-injury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gyan-questions-authenticity-of-osimhens-injury\/","title":{"rendered":"Gyan Questions Authenticity of Osimhen\u2019s Injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Oscar Okhifo<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan, has sparked controversy after alleging that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen may have faked the injury that ruled him out of the Super Eagles\u2019 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Osimhen picked up an ankle knock in Nigeria\u2019s 1-0 win over Rwanda last week, forcing him to miss the crunch clash against South Africa in Bloemfontein, which ended 1-1 and left Nigeria\u2019s qualification hopes hanging in the balance.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">But Gyan, Africa\u2019s all-time top scorer at the FIFA World Cup, suggested that the Galatasaray forward\u2019s injury might have been a ploy to return early to his club ahead of their Champions League engagements.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI know these tricks. They probably told Osimhen: the Champions League is coming up, we\u2019ve made a massive investment in you.
