I have not been approached or nominated for its presidency or chairmanship, and if such an approach were ever made, I would respectfully decline,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The former minister said he was shocked to see fabricated stories and quotes being circulated online, alleging that he had entered the race before withdrawing to back another aspirant.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He stressed that he has no involvement with football administration and urged the public to disregard what he described as \u201ca deeply insulting attempt to drag my name into a matter I know nothing about.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Warning against the spread of misinformation, Fani-Kayode stated that only statements released through his official website,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/femifanikayode.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/femifanikayode.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1757758291141000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2c0tNiXpxXBUMIvOOmM1j-\">femifanikayode.org<\/a>, or his verified social media platforms on X, Facebook, and Instagram should be considered authentic.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThese faceless blogs are criminal in nature. They attribute to me words I never uttered. Nigerians should be wary and treat any report not from my verified channels with the utmost suspicion,\u201d he cautioned.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Fake news has become a recurring challenge in Nigeria, with none of the purveyors held accountable despite the damage caused to reputations and institutions.
