{"id":122515,"date":"2025-09-26T19:18:48","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T18:18:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122515"},"modified":"2025-09-26T19:18:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T18:18:48","slug":"2027-coalition-drops-ada-affirms-adc-as-platform-to-challenge-tinubu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/2027-coalition-drops-ada-affirms-adc-as-platform-to-challenge-tinubu\/","title":{"rendered":"2027: Coalition Drops ADA, Affirms ADC as Platform to Challenge Tinubu"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa, Abuja<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The coalition of opposition political leaders seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections has formally adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform, distancing itself from the yet-to-be-registered All Democratic Alliance (ADA).<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing journalists after a high-level caucus meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the coalition\u2019s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the decision was one of the key resolutions reached by party stakeholders.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ADC also urged prominent members of the coalition, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Nasir El-Rufai of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Aminu Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to resign from their respective parties and fully align with the new platform.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting was attended by influential figures such as ADC National Chairman David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola, ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, ex-Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abdullahi disclosed that the coalition had resolved all issues regarding ADA, stressing<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Coalition has rested everything concerning the ADA.
