{"id":122639,"date":"2025-09-30T08:50:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T07:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122639"},"modified":"2025-09-30T08:50:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T07:50:18","slug":"65th-independence-anniversary-fg-cancels-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/65th-independence-anniversary-fg-cancels-parade\/","title":{"rendered":"65th Independence Anniversary: FG cancels parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Federal Government has announced the cancellation of the Independence Anniversary parade earlier scheduled\u00a0 for Wednesday, October 1st.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information &amp; Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, said that \u201cthe cancellation is in no way a diminishment of the significance of this milestone anniversary, and the government remains committed to celebrating Nigeria&#8217;s 65th year of independence with dignity and enthusiasm.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although he provided no specific reason for the cancellation, the statement noted that all other programs planned for the Independence Anniversary will proceed as scheduled.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement also expressed the government&#8217;s deep regret for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further stated that the Federal Government appreciates the understanding, support, and cooperation of all Nigerians, members of the diplomatic community, and invited guests.
