{"id":122658,"date":"2025-09-30T16:26:32","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122658"},"modified":"2025-09-30T16:26:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:26:32","slug":"edo-govt-okays-revised-n799-8bn-supplementary-budget-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/edo-govt-okays-revised-n799-8bn-supplementary-budget-for-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Edo Govt Okays Revised N799.8bn Supplementary Budget for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Tracy Moses<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Edo State Executive Council has approved a revised supplementary budget of N799.820 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, an increase of about N125 billion or 18 percent from the initial N675.220 billion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The approval was granted during an emergency council meeting held on Monday, September 29, 2025, and presided over by the Chairman-in-Council and Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Finance, Emmanuel Okoebor, explained that the upward review reflects the government\u2019s strong commitment to infrastructure development and improved public services.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cInitially, the budget stood at N675 billion, with recurrent expenditure accounting for about 33 percent and capital expenditure 67 percent. Under the revised budget, capital expenditure now represents about 70 percent, while recurrent expenditure is pegged at 30 percent. This clearly demonstrates Governor Okpebholo\u2019s focus on infrastructure growth across Edo State,\u201d Okoebor stated.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further broke down the nature of the budget increase.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe upward adjustment amounts to roughly N125 billion, representing an 18 percent rise from the earlier figure.
