{"id":122661,"date":"2025-09-30T16:30:43","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122661"},"modified":"2025-09-30T16:30:43","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:30:43","slug":"maduagwu-fish-out-killers-tinubu-orders-security-agencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/maduagwu-fish-out-killers-tinubu-orders-security-agencies\/","title":{"rendered":"Maduagwu: Fish out killers, Tinubu orders security agencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Bola Tinubu has ordered security and law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the killing of Arise News anchor Ms. Somtochukwu Maduagwu, popularly known as \u201cSommie,\u201d who was murdered during a robbery at her home in Katampe, Abuja on Monday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed deep sorrow over her tragic death.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He described her as a \u201cpromising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tinubu extended his condolences to her family, the management and staff of Arise News, and the broader Nigerian media community. He assured the public that his administration remains committed to protecting citizens\u2019 lives and property, while increasing efforts to fight crime in all its forms.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also mourned the late broadcaster, calling her death \u201cpainful and unfortunate.\u201d In a personally signed statement, she said Maduagwu\u2019s untimely passing deprived the country of one of its brightest young journalists.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cShe has been cut down in her prime. I offer my condolences to the chairman of Arise Media, Chief Nduka Obaigbena, her family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones.
