The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Nigerians on the nation\u2019s 65th Independence anniversary, describing the milestone as a \u201cnew dawn of great and infinite possibilities\u201d for the country.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka on Wednesday, the ruling party commended the sacrifices of Nigeria\u2019s founding fathers, noting that despite decades of challenges, the country has continued to triumph through the resilience and patriotism of its citizens.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cToday, we especially celebrate all Nigerians for their abiding faith, confidence and commitment to peace, unity and progress of our dear country,\u201d the party said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The APC said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration had repositioned the nation on the path of stability and growth, citing recent macroeconomic indicators as evidence that the government\u2019s reform agenda was paying off.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to the statement, Nigeria has posted consistent trade surpluses for five consecutive quarters, while oil production has risen to record levels and non-oil revenue has surged.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The party further claimed that inflation had fallen to 20.1 per cent, foreign reserves had climbed above $42 billion, and GDP growth reached 4.28 percent in the second quarter of 2025, exceeding the IMF\u2019s forecast of 3.5 per cent.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The ruling party also pointed to fiscal and monetary policy gains, including the reduction of the revenue-to-debt-servicing ratio from 97 per cent to below 50 per cent, as well as stability in the naira, which it said had boosted investor confidence.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cOur ship of state under the hands of the inimitably bold and visionary President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, now sails confidently in steady and calmer waters on a charted course to a clear destination of stability, growth, development anchored firmly on solid economic foundations,\u201d the party declared.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The APC acknowledged the initial hardship brought about by the removal of fuel subsidy and unification of foreign exchange rates but maintained that the reforms had set the stage for long-term economic recovery.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It also highlighted government’s efforts in infrastructure development, agriculture, and the creative industry, which it said were creating jobs, while noting that the fight against insurgency and corruption remained a priority.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Morka urged Nigerians to sustain their support for the Tinubu administration and the APC in order to \u201cbuild a Nigeria of our collective dream.\u201d<\/div>\n
