{"id":122720,"date":"2025-10-03T19:44:53","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T18:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=122720"},"modified":"2025-10-03T19:44:53","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T18:44:53","slug":"court-halts-police-enforcement-of-tinted-glass-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/court-halts-police-enforcement-of-tinted-glass-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Halts Police Enforcement of Tinted Glass Permit\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, has restrained the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) from enforcing the new tinted glass permit requirement.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Justice of the Federal High Court on Friday ordered the police to suspend the enforcement and maintain the status quo \u201cpending further proceedings in the matter.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The order followed the commencement of hearing in Suit No. FHC\/WR\/CS\/103\/2025, filed by legal practitioner John Aikpokpo-Martins against the IGP and the police authorities. The lawyer is challenging the legality of the newly introduced Tinted Glass Permit (TGP) enforcement regime.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">On October 2, 2025, the police, acting under the directive of the IGP, began nationwide enforcement of the TGP.
