First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has declared that the global era of labeling Nigeria as the \u201cmost corrupt country\u201d has come to an end.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Speaking during her official visit to Gombe State, where she inaugurated several health projects including the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Kumo, Mrs Tinubu urged Nigerians to stop tarnishing the nation\u2019s image, stressing that international perceptions of Nigeria are shifting positively under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration.<\/div>\n

\u201cGone are the days when they say Nigeria is the most corrupt country. You won\u2019t hear that again,\u201d she stated. \u201cWhen I travel abroad and they hear you\u2019re from Nigeria, everyone is interested. Nigeria is now the next destination.\u201d<\/div>\n

The First Lady also paid homage to the Emir of Akko, praising Gombe\u2019s scenic landscape, which she likened to the English countryside. She encouraged citizens to embrace national pride, celebrate Nigeria\u2019s natural and cultural heritage, and project a positive image of the country.<\/div>\n

Linking her call for patriotism to the government\u2019s reforms in security, education, and grassroots development, Mrs Tinubu highlighted the influence of traditional and religious leaders in shaping attitudes and values.<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 65 years old now, and I pray to live long,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m working so hard so that when my husband finishes his tenure, I too can walk around safely. That is what drives me.\u201d<\/div>\n

She appealed to Nigerians to remain united, hopeful, and supportive of ongoing government efforts aimed at restoring national dignity and strengthening Nigeria\u2019s standing in the global community.<\/div>\n
