Boko Haram, the dreaded Islamist Militant group\u00a0 is moving closer to to its desire to Islamize Nigeria as the Sect has taken over three Local Governments in Borno State and hoisted its flag, a sign it has conquered the Councils, residents of the affected Council told Pointblanknews.com<\/p>\n
The affected Local government Councils in northern part of Borno include , Marte , Monguno and Kukawa where the terrorists were alleged to have hoisted their flags in some villages within the\u00a0 areas.<\/p>\n
But the state Governor, Hon Kashim Shettima according to a source\u00a0 had dismissed\u00a0 the claim and assured the people of the state that there is no cause for alarm noting that no part of his state has been taken over by any terrorist group.<\/p>\n
Also some top security source in the state actually confirmed that the terrorist\u00a0 are in some parts of northern Borno but not to the extent of taken over government in the rural areas.<\/p>\n
Already, most prominent\u00a0 persons\u00a0 particularly politicians and any one who has business to do with government officials at the council level have since abandoned their homes and are currently taking refuge in Maiduguri the state capital<\/p>\n
Some villagers who have no where to run to and\u00a0 have decided\u00a0 to remain in their domain are living in perpetual fear\u00a0 that the terrorist might invade their homes and have them killed.<\/p>\n
But governor Shettima according to government House source said the governor alongside senior security officials are set to Visit Kukawa and Moguno local government with a view to assessing the situation on ground as well as further assuring the people of the area that government is on top of the situation.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com gathered that security forces and top government official in Abuja are all aware of the ugly development but\u00a0 are said to be confused on how to arrest the situation.<\/p>\n
” Security forces and top government officials both at the National Assembly and the Executive are aware of the issue on ground, they can not
\nclaim to be ignorant of the\u00a0 serious security challenged in the northern part of the state,\u00a0 I think they are just Confused or non challant” a Source said.<\/p>\n
