{"id":123999,"date":"2025-11-24T15:25:54","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T14:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=123999"},"modified":"2025-11-24T15:25:54","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T14:25:54","slug":"insecurity-bauchi-shuts-all-public-private-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/other-news\/insecurity-bauchi-shuts-all-public-private-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity: Bauchi Shuts All Public, Private Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Myke Agunwa<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Bauchi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, both public and private, as well as federal institutions, citing escalating insecurity and threats to the safety of students and staff across the state.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The directive, issued on Sunday by the Bauchi State Ministry of Education, comes amid a wave of killings, mass abductions, and violent attacks sweeping across several parts of Nigeria.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Note that the country has witnessed a disturbing escalation in violent crime over the last two weeks, with schools increasingly becoming soft targets. 315 students and teachers were abducted from St. Mary\u2019s Catholic School in Niger State on Wednesday just as 25 schoolgirls were kidnapped from a government girls\u2019 school in Kebbi State.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dozens were abducted in separate attacks in Zamfara communities and on the Gusau\u2013Sokoto highway. 15 travellers were kidnapped along the Abuja\u2013Kaduna expressway in two separate incidents and several farmers abducted in Benue. It has been reported that over 380 people have been abducted in the last 10 days.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its statement, the ministry said the decision followed \u201cextensive consultations\u201d and an urgent review of the deteriorating security situation.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe government is fully aware of the inconvenience this may cause.
