Senator Aliyu Wammako representing Sokoto North Senatorial District on the platform of APC has criticized the President\u2019s directive to withdraw police protection from VIPs, arguing that the decision could expose prominent individuals to grave danger.<\/div>\n

Speaking during Tuesday\u2019s plenary at the National Assembly in Abuja, Wammako cautioned that removing security details from high-profile citizens would create new vulnerabilities. \u201cI have to disagree with the idea of withdrawing police from VIPs; that is another danger because the VIPs are going to be the next target,\u201d he warned.<\/div>\n

The senator urged the government to adopt a tougher approach toward bandits, insisting that the country must not bow to criminal groups. \u201cNigeria should not submit to them; instead, they should submit to Nigeria,\u201d he asserted.<\/div>\n

Wammako further called for an overhaul of the security arrangements assigned to retired military officers. While acknowledging that they too require protection, he criticized the existing setup as unnecessarily excessive and pushed for a more balanced, reasonable structure.<\/div>\n
