The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, is set to host a national celebration marking 100 years of aviation in Nigeria, as the country commemorates a century of progress and industry transformation.<\/div>\n

The event, scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025, will hold at the African Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m. It is expected to attract top aviation stakeholders from within and outside Nigeria.<\/div>\n

In a statement on Friday, the Minister\u2019s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, announced that a major highlight of the ceremony will be the induction of 40 Legends of Nigerian Aviation. The honourees\u2014administrators, pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, and industry leaders\u2014will be recognised for decades of outstanding service and groundbreaking contributions to the aviation sector.<\/div>\n

Moshood noted that their work laid the foundation for the growth and resilience the industry enjoys today and continues to inspire future aviation professionals.<\/div>\n

The centenary celebration will feature goodwill messages, keynote speeches, documentary presentations, and the unveiling of commemorative projects. Participants will include domestic and international airlines, aviation agencies, airport authorities, ground handling companies, private operators, development partners, and sector experts.<\/div>\n

Keyamo said the anniversary is both a tribute to the pioneers of Nigerian aviation and a commitment to building a safer, more competitive, and innovation-driven sector. He added that the next century of aviation development will focus on enhanced safety systems, stronger infrastructure, and strategic partnerships that position Nigeria as a major player in global aviation.<\/div>\n
