The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki (SAN), has declared that his administration is committed to \u201creturning power to the people\u201d through full restoration of internal democracy, while boldly predicting sweeping victories for the party in the South-West starting with the 2026 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States.<\/div>\n

Speaking to hundreds of jubilant party members and supporters at the PDP Secretariat in Abeokuta shortly after a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Turaki said the elder statesman\u2019s counsel has further galvanised the party\u2019s resolve to reclaim its \u201cdominant political position.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cLet me assure all our members and the good people of the South-West: We will win Ekiti, we will win Osun, and we are not stopping there. By the special grace of God and the unwavering support of our people, we will take over Ogun State,\u201d Turaki declared to thunderous applause.<\/div>\n

He attributed the PDP\u2019s resurgence to \u201cwidespread grassroots mobilisation and renewed unity,\u201d insisting Nigerians are \u201ctired of the current trajectory\u201d under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and ready to return to the PDP for \u201cresponsible governance, economic revival, and delivery of democratic dividends.\u201d<\/div>\n

Turaki thanked Chief Obasanjo for his \u201cinvaluable counsel,\u201d describing the meeting as a major boost to the party\u2019s strategic focus on reclaiming power across the region.<\/div>\n

The PDP chairman reiterated his administration\u2019s pledge to entrench internal democracy, ensuring members \u2014 not godfathers \u2014 determine critical party decisions. \u201cWe are returning power to you the people,\u201d he emphasised, positioning the PDP as the \u201ccredible, formidable alternative\u201d ahead of future elections.<\/div>\n

The Abeokuta rally marks the latest in Turaki\u2019s nationwide tour to rebuild party structures after years of internal crises that weakened the PDP\u2019s hold on the South-West.<\/div>\n
