{"id":124797,"date":"2026-01-05T08:12:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T07:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=124797"},"modified":"2026-01-05T08:12:34","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T07:12:34","slug":"go-after-mastermind-of-kasuwan-daji-killings-tinubu-orders-security-agencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/go-after-mastermind-of-kasuwan-daji-killings-tinubu-orders-security-agencies\/","title":{"rendered":"Go After Mastermind of Kasuwan Daji Killings, Tinubu Orders Security Agencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to launch an all-out manhunt for the terrorist elements behind the recent attack on Kasuwan Daji in Niger State which led to the death of over 30 people and abduction of scores of others.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The directive, issued on Sunday, mandates the military, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to intensify operations aimed at tracking down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The President specifically instructed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the DSS to coordinate efforts in crushing the attackers.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a statement signed on January 4, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the assault as a direct challenge to Nigeria\u2019s resolve and sovereignty.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down,\u201d the President declared.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Kasuwan Daji attack, which occurred amid a spike in terrorist activities in Niger State, claimed several lives and led to the abduction of women and children. According to the statement, the assailants are suspected to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states following a U.S. air strike carried out on Christmas Eve.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tinubu warned that not only the attackers but also those who support them would face the full weight of the law.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The President condemned the killings and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Niger State. He assured Nigerians that security agencies have been directed to reinforce protection around vulnerable communities, particularly those close to forest areas commonly used as hideouts by criminal groups.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Calling for national unity, Tinubu urged citizens to avoid divisive rhetoric that could weaken the country\u2019s collective fight against terrorism.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary.
