Acting on sustained intelligence surveillance, OPHK troops carried out a coordinated operation in the Yan Lemo area of Mubi South Local Government Area in the early hours of January 5, 2026.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The recent development was contained in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, on January 5, 2026.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He noted that during the operation, eight suspects were arrested, including two principal suspects identified as major facilitators within the suicide bombing network. Security sources disclosed that items recovered from the suspects\u2019 residence included cash, mobile phones, identification documents, ATM cards, jewellery and other personal effects, all of which are undergoing forensic examination to aid ongoing investigations.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the military, a suspect already in custody positively identified the two principal suspects as individuals who supplied materials used in assembling the Improvised Explosive Device (IED), while other occupants of the residence were also found to have links to the terror network.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAll suspects remain in military custody and are undergoing detailed interrogation to facilitate further intelligence recovery before being handed over for continued investigation,\u201d the statement said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a related operation, OPHK troops also intercepted a large consignment of suspected terrorists\u2019 logistics in Mayo Nguli, Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State, on January 4, 2026. The troops seized 45 Jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), amounting to about 1,125 litres, believed to have been smuggled to support terrorist activities.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The military disclosed that the suppliers fled on sighting the troops, abandoning the fuel, which has since been taken into military custody.
