{"id":124951,"date":"2026-01-13T17:03:50","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T16:03:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=124951"},"modified":"2026-01-13T17:03:50","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T16:03:50","slug":"fg-justifies-%e2%82%a643bn-rehab-of-third-mainland-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fg-justifies-%e2%82%a643bn-rehab-of-third-mainland-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Justifies \u20a643bn Rehab of Third Mainland Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Federal Government has justified the \u20a643 billion spent on the full rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, with the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, saying the intervention was unavoidable given the bridge\u2019s deteriorated state when the current administration took office.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the project, Umahi disclosed that the total contract sum for the extensive rehabilitation stood at \u20a643 billion, stressing: \u201cThe total contract sum for the rehabilitation of the bridge is N43 billion.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He explained that the scope of work went far beyond surface repairs, covering 14 kilometres by 14 metres across both carriageways.
