Sources said the doctor was at the facility for routine wound treatment when he recognised the individuals as members of the gang that abducted him weeks earlier.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shocked by the encounter, Dr. Tahir quietly alerted hospital management, who immediately contacted security operatives. Officers swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested the suspects without incident.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confirming the arrest, a security source said, \u201cThe suspects unknowingly walked straight into the hands of their victim. The doctor identified them instantly and raised the alarm. Our operatives moved in quickly and arrested them before they could escape.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Tahir and his younger brother were abducted from their residence in Auchi, Edo State, on January 2, 2025, when armed men stormed the home late at night.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Family members reportedly paid a ransom of \u20a650 million after days of negotiations in a desperate bid to secure their release. While Dr. Tahir was later freed, the kidnappers allegedly murdered his younger brother, whose body was discovered days after the payment.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A relative of the victims, who requested anonymity, described the incident as heartbreaking: \u201cWe did everything they asked for. We paid the money believing both brothers would come home alive. Instead, they killed the younger one. It was devastating.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the kidnapping syndicate and establish their roles in the crime.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation.
