{"id":126096,"date":"2026-03-10T09:56:20","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T08:56:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=126096"},"modified":"2026-03-10T09:56:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T08:56:20","slug":"ex-super-eagles-coach-adegboye-onigbinde-dies-at-88","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/ex-super-eagles-coach-adegboye-onigbinde-dies-at-88\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex- Super Eagles Coach Adegboye Onigbinde Dies at 88"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Oscar Okhifo<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, has died at the age of 88, bringing to an end the life of one of Nigeria\u2019s most respected football tacticians and administrators.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">His passing, which occurred three days after his 88th birthday, was confirmed by his daughter, Mrs. Bolade Adesuyi, on Monday.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Onigbinde, a High Chief of Modakeke in Osun State, was widely respected in Nigerian football circles for his tactical depth and long-standing contributions to the development of the game both on and off the pitch.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He had two separate spells in charge of the Nigeria national football team.
