The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged fraud, abuse of office and money laundering.<\/div>\n

In a press release issued on March 23, 2026, by John Odey, the Head Media and Public Communications, its disclosed that El-Rufai will be docked alongside one Joel Adoga before the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.<\/div>\n

The anti-graft agency stated that the case, filed under suit number FHC\/KD\/73\/2026, involves allegations ranging from conversion and possession of public property to money laundering. It added that \u201cthe Commission is set to arraign former Governor Nasir El-Rufai on charges ranging from conversion of public property to money laundering.\u201d<\/div>\n

The ICPC further revealed that a separate charge has also been filed against El-Rufai and another defendant, Amadu Sule, before the Kaduna State High Court. The Commission explained that the case at the state level borders on abuse of office, fraud and attempts to secure undue advantage, noting that \u201ca separate case has also been filed before the Kaduna State High Court bordering on abuse of office and fraud.\u201d<\/div>\n

According to the statement, both cases were instituted on March 18, 2026, in line with established legal procedures. \u201cBoth charges were instituted on March 18, 2026, in line with due legal process,\u201d the Commission said, adding that El-Rufai has already been served with the charges.<\/div>\n

Confirming compliance with legal requirements, the ICPC stated that \u201cMalam Nasir El-Rufai has been duly served in respect of the charges,\u201d while noting that the date for arraignment at the State High Court would be communicated at the appropriate time.<\/div>\n

The Commission also reaffirmed its commitment to due process, stressing that \u201cthe ICPC remains committed to upholding due process and the rule of law at all times.\u201d<\/div>\n
