Chioma Uzodimma, commended the initiative, describing it as a vital step in addressing cancer-related deaths.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Vivian Egu, she said, \u201cEarly detection saves lives. We must encourage regular screening and greater awareness of symptoms.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">She urged the public to watch for warning signs such as changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, abdominal discomfort, and unexplained fatigue.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an interview, a consultant at the Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri, Dr. Christopher Ekwunife, warned of rising cases of colorectal cancer among younger people.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cScreening remains the most effective prevention. At an early stage, it is easier to treat and less costly,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Founder of the Foundation, Dr. Keyna Omenukor, said the initiative was aimed at reducing late diagnosis.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cScreening is lifesaving. We want people to act early and not wait until it is too late,\u201d she stated.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also speaking, the Commissioner for Tertiary and Technical Education, Prof. Victor Nwachukwu, said awareness would be extended to tertiary institutions.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYoung people must be informed.
