The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has reportedly resigned from office, though the state government has yet to officially confirm the development.<\/div>\n

The disclosure was made in a statement issued by the Kwankwasiyya Movement and signed by its spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
According to the group, Gwarzo\u2019s decision followed \u201ccareful consideration\u201d and was taken in the interest of preserving stability in the state\u2019s governance. It noted that prevailing circumstances had made it increasingly difficult for him to fully discharge the responsibilities of his office.<\/div>\n

\u201cThis decision, though difficult, has been taken in the overall interest of the people and the stability of governance in Kano State,\u201d the statement read.<\/div>\n

The reported resignation comes on the heels of allegations raised against the deputy governor by the Kano State House of Assembly. While details of the allegations have not been officially made public in full, the Assembly had reportedly initiated proceedings over claims bordering on misconduct and abuse of office.<\/div>\n

It further revealed that Gwarzo plans to redirect his efforts toward strengthening the Kwankwasiyya Movement, particularly focusing on its restructuring and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/div>\n
