Ahead of the Presidential race\u00a0 in 2015 Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State has said he will soon\u00a0 declare his intention to contest.<\/p>\n
Kwankwanso stated\u00a0 that while his priority is to secure the lives and property of Kano people as Governor “at the right time I will declare to run for the presidency”<\/p>\n
The governor made the revelation today at the government house in Maiduguri during a sympathy visit where he present N20 million cheque to assist victims of the recent Baga and Bama crises.<\/p>\n
According to him,” For now we\u00a0 are now working round the clock to ensure peace and stability in our states\u00a0 and security in our region.\u00a0 But I want to assure you that as a team player I will make my intentions known to Nigerians when the time comes.”<\/p>\n
“I am not the kind of persons who goes about blowing his trumpet any how.<\/p>\n
My brother the Borno state governor has showered so much praises about my humble self to the extent that I wanted to stop him. But probably that is what a true friend and brother should do to a friend\u00a0 telling the world that this is the quality that makes one thick”.<\/p>\n
Kwankwaso revealed that he had never anticipated the level of security Challenges bedeviling\u00a0 some northern states promising that “as\u00a0 governors we are set to tackle the challenges head on.”<\/p>\n
He said his\u00a0 government will partner with the\u00a0 Borno State government\u00a0 to ensure lasting peace in the region<\/p>\n
Borno Governor Kashim Shettima had said this is the first monetary donation the state is getting from any government since the insurgency began in the state.<\/p>\n
“Be it Federal, State or International organisation, we have not received a dime\u00a0 from anywhere, they have all left us to our fate whether we\u00a0 or swim or sink. But let me assure you, Borno bounce back”<\/p>\n
