This remarkable achievement not only marks another trillion-naira milestone but also reinforces the bank\u2019s position as Nigeria\u2019s most profitable financial institution.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The success behind these numbers is closely tied to the leadership of Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank and the first female CEO in the bank\u2019s history. Since her appointment, Umeoji has championed disciplined growth, strong risk management, and long-term value creation. She explains:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe Bank\u2019s robust performance is an attestation to the resilience of the Zenith brand, our result-driven strategy, and the adaptability of our people in an evolving operating environment. We have fortified our capital base, reset our asset quality, and are well positioned for sustainable and profitable growth.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">This strategic discipline was evident in the bank\u2019s deliberate cleanup of parts of its loan book. While this temporarily tempered short-term profits, it strengthened the balance sheet, improved asset quality, and reduced risk, laying the foundation for sustainable growth. Despite these adjustments, Zenith\u2019s core operations continued to expand.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The bank\u2019s financial statements show that gross earnings rose to \u20a64.19 trillion, driven by strong interest income and steady growth in customer deposits. Deposits reached \u20a624 trillion, gross loans increased to \u20a611 trillion, and interest income climbed by 35 percent. Net interest income grew by more than 50 percent, reflecting the bank\u2019s effective management of margins even amid challenging economic conditions.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Operating costs did rise, pushing the cost-to-income ratio to 45.2 percent. Management noted, however, that this reflects inflationary pressures and higher impairment charges from the loan cleanup, rather than inefficiency.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Investors are also benefiting from Zenith Bank\u2019s disciplined growth. The board has proposed a final dividend of \u20a68.75 per share, bringing total dividends for 2025 to \u20a610 per share, double the payout of 2024.
