{"id":126517,"date":"2026-04-09T05:47:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T04:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=126517"},"modified":"2026-04-09T05:47:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T04:47:42","slug":"apc-national-chair-storms-kano-seeks-shekarau-gwarzos-return-to-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/apc-national-chair-storms-kano-seeks-shekarau-gwarzos-return-to-party\/","title":{"rendered":"APC National Chair Storms Kano, Seeks Shekarau, Gwarzo\u2019s Return to Party\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Lizzy Chirkpi<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a major political move aimed at consolidating success in the North, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, on Wednesday visited former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau and Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo in Kano.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The meeting took place at Shekarau\u2019s residence, Mundubawa Palace, where Yilwatda made a direct appeal for their return to the ruling party, describing himself as their son in need of guidance and support.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him,\u00a0 \u201cCome and help me, I am your son. I need your support, I need your mentorship. I am pleading with you to come and help me,\u201d Yilwatda said, urging broader reconciliation within the party.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cLet us all come back to APC. Your son at the APC is pleading; I cannot do it alone. Together we can build a very strong alliance to help the North.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his response, Shekarau commended the APC chairman\u2019s personal visit, noting that such a gesture demonstrated respect and seriousness.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou have come to us; it is something you could have sent someone to do or even meet me in Abuja, but you came yourself,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The former governor, however, felt short of making any immediate commitment, revealing that he and his political associates are still weighing their options amid internal challenges within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe are reviewing the situation, especially considering the issues affecting us in the PDP.
