\nNollywood actor-turned politician, Kenneth Okonkwo has come hard on former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of causing division and instability within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).<\/p>\n
Speaking during an appearance on the on a podcast, Okonkwo alleged that Obi\u2019s involvement in the party introduced what he described as \u201ctoxicity\u201d and internal conflict.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was only one person that was bringing toxicity in ADC and that person is Peter Obi. He was the one that went around asking others to step down for him,\u201d Okonkwo said.<\/p>\n
He further accused Obi of fostering division within the party, claiming: \u201cBy nature, chaos follows him. Immediately he came into the party was what brought the toxic \u2018Obi or nothing\u2019 what was brought the toxicity into ADC.\u201d<\/p>\n
Okonkwo also alleged that Obi left the ADC because of fears surrounding internal democratic processes, particularly primary elections. According to him, Obi has never fully subjected himself to competitive party primaries throughout his political career.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason he left ADC is cause he is a man who is afraid of free, fair, primary election. Throughout his political career he has never contested for any political position,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The former Labour Party chieftain further criticized Obi\u2019s political approach, saying it lacked a strong democratic foundation.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe built his political career on sand and not on democracy. He got possessed with entitlement democracy mentality so anytime he gets into a party he gets this fear of internal democracy,\u201d Okonkwo added.<\/p>\n
