{"id":127000,"date":"2026-05-11T18:01:51","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T17:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=127000"},"modified":"2026-05-11T18:01:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T17:01:51","slug":"gunmen-kill-uniben-student-at-main-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gunmen-kill-uniben-student-at-main-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen kill UNIBEN student at main campus\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Oscar Okhifo<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents and students were thrown into panic on Sunday following the killing of a part-time student of the University of Benin, who was shot dead by unknown gunmen near the Ugbowo main campus gate in Benin City.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident has sparked renewed concerns about security within and around the campus community.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eye witnesses said the victim was attacked while seated inside a vehicle close to the school gate when armed men suddenly opened fire before fleeing the scene.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A witness recounted the moment of the attack:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt happened so fast. We just heard loud gunshots and everyone started screaming and running.
