{"id":127280,"date":"2026-05-28T00:42:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T23:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=127280"},"modified":"2026-05-28T00:42:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T23:42:00","slug":"presidency-seeks-legal-action-against-vdm-over-alleged-fake-tinubu-audio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/presidency-seeks-legal-action-against-vdm-over-alleged-fake-tinubu-audio\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidency seeks legal action against VDM over alleged fake Tinubu audio"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Oscar Okhifo<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Presidency on Wednesday called for legal action against social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over the circulation of an alleged fake audio purportedly linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga made the demand in a post on X on Wednesday, alleging that the social media influencer deliberately circulated false content aimed at misleading Nigerians.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the viral audio clip, which was purported to contain comments by Tinubu on the 2027 presidential election and opposition\u00a0 figure Peter Obi, was fabricated and did not originate from the President.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu.
