Recovered from the shipment were three kilograms of ketamine and 199 grams of MDMA, popularly known as Ecstasy, carefully hidden within the appliances.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the NDLEA, the concealment method was designed to beat routine screening procedures, but operatives were able to detect and intercept the consignment before it could reach its intended destination.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confirming the seizure, NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said the agency remained committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks exploiting legitimate import channels.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have uncovered consignments of high potency illicit drugs concealed in water purifier machines shipped to Lagos from Netherlands,&#8221; Babafemi said in a statement.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The latest interception highlights the increasingly sophisticated methods adopted by drug traffickers, who often disguise narcotics in household appliances, food items and other imported goods to avoid detection.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Lagos operation was part of a broader nationwide crackdown that recorded several major seizures and arrests across the country.
